8pm The Greg Blake Band

The Blake family spent 10 years in Colorado before deciding to move back to the Kansas City area.  Greg built a solid reputation and loyal fan base in the Midwestern states while living there. He was a member of the Bluegrass Missourians for nearly fifteen years, helping them to secure multiple awards from the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA), as well as establishing himself as one of the Midwest’s premier vocalists (twice nominated for SPBGMA’s Traditional Male Vocalist of the Year) and guitarists (an amazing five consecutive awards as Guitarist of the Year and nine nominations AND a Kansas State Flatpicking championship to boot).

When Greg returned in 2017, the Midwest fans were wondering if his world travels as a professional musician would leave any room and time for him to perform at “home”… They were thrilled when he put together a band consisting of former Bluegrass Missourian band mates Grant Cochran and Brian McCarty, one of Missouri’s finest Scruggs-style banjo players Todd Davis, and fiery lady fiddler and singer from Iowa Annie Savage, to perform at long-running Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Arkansas festivals and venues.

This is a Midwest band with a traditional, Midwest flavor performing primarily for Midwest audiences, but invitations are already coming from many different places outside the familiar plains and rolling hills of the Midwest for what this band has to offer. If you’re vacationing across plains of Kansas, or the rolling hills of Missouri & Arkansas, or you happen to find yourself staring at miles of corn fields in Iowa and its “festival season”, there’s a good chance that you’ll hear this local favorite with a world-wide appeal.

10pm The Nicole Springer Band

The Nicole Springer Band is the newest project of singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Nicole Springer. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the band is a blend of genres, from Americana to blues with hints of soul. A nominee for the Pitch KC’s 2019 “Best Vocalist” award, Nicole’s dynamic, powerful vocals combine with her raw, honest storytelling to create unforgettable songs. Her soulful rock sound is a mix of Brandi Carlile and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Best described as “a listening room in the middle of a rock ‘n’ roll show”, her live performances are a true experience that take you from an intimate songwriter set to an energetic, full-band concert that you can’t help but stand up and move for.

Coming back from a year and a half music hiatus, Nicole has hit the ground running. This year alone she’s performed 60 live shows, and just released her debut EP, Willing. Camp Kansas City Magazine describes the EP as “a wonderful rock alternative album with hints of folk and a strong 90s vibe”. This may be her first solo project, but she’s no stranger to the Kansas City music community. As a member of The Good Hearts and The Clementines, Nicole performed at the Kansas City Folk Festival, Smoky Hill River Festival, and SXSW. She’s also performed at Middle of the Map Fest, the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and has opened up for The Spin Doctors and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. In addition to her busy music career, Nicole is an animal rights advocate and gives back to her community by volunteering for local non-profits like The Kansas City Heroes.

12am Brook Blanche

The Westport Saloon

Located in Kansas City’s historic Westport District, The Westport Saloon has become a midwest haven for the underground. Roots, Honky Tonk, Bluegrass, Blues, Blues Rock, Folk, Rockabilly, and that Twang you live for.

Like the settlers of Westport, we work tirelessly to bring amazing names to our stage. Over the years we have hosted acts such as Wayne “the Train” Hancock, Dale Watson, Moe Brandy, JD Wilkes, Jayke Orvis and the Broken Band,  The Goddamn Gallows, Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies, Luke Bell, The Hooten Hallers, Carries Nation and the Speakeasy and so many more.

Like the settlers of Westport, we are also known for our whiskey. Overtime, and as tastes have changed, we have amassed quite the collection to keep your glass filled and you coming back. Saloons predate prohibition establishments, when drinks were uncomplicated, not pretentious and hearty.  It’s alright to be heavy on the bourbon and Scotch – we don’t judge.
