About the Bands:

Soul Mama– “Soul Mama is music written and recorded by Justin Daniel Hickerson. He has been writing and/or recording since 2004(ish).

Justin has toured and recorded with such acts as Zombie Bazooka Patrol, Locust Cloud, Middlemen, Children of Spy, Toxic Teeth, Mose Giganticus, Henry Daggs, and Seth Moore.

These recordings are done by JDH alone in his room, in his moms garage, dad’s kitchen, in the bathroom, on the porch, and various other random places where the mood has struck him. If you happen to catch one of his live shows, you may see him solo, or with any number of friends, former band mates, or fellow musicians accompany him. Listen and learn something about yourself.” -Information taken from artist’s facebook page -click here to follow Soul Mama-

Kelly Hunt-  “Kelly Hunt is a singer-songwriter of Americana/Roots music. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, she now calls Kansas City home. Kelly’s primary instrument is her voice, which rings out with confidence and clarity of someone who has been singing all her life. Accompanied by her 1920s tenor banjo, Kelly’s songs meld traditions of folk, blues, classic country, and old-time music for a sound that is all her own. Her songwriting springs from a place of rich imagery and bespeaks a genuine love of storytelling. Kelly is currently recording her first album (featuring multi-instrumentalist Stas’ Heaney), which she hopes to make available by early winter 2017.

Stas’ Heaney is a classically-trained percussionist, pianist, and violinist. But a 19th c. fiddle is his instrument of choice when playing with Kelly. His deft instrumentals lend a vibrance and richness to Kelly’s songs, weaving between banjo and vocals with graceful precision.” ” -information taken from artist’s Facebook page -click here to follow Kelly-

Ginny Mules-  “When Liz Forster (singer + guitar player) met Keenan Copple (banjo + slide guitar player)at a music store in 2013, the pair discovered they were NW Denver neighbors and began playing music together almost immediately. Weekly jam nights with Keenan, Liz and Phil Hanceford (mandolin and vocals) materialized, and the trio began the search for a bass player.

On a friend’s recommendation, they called on Carbondale native (bassist and vocalist) Sheena Gruber. Forster says, “We caught a lucky break with Sheena. She plays terrific bass, sings and looks like Bonnie Raitt, and is a great fit for us vibe-wise.” Fast forward to the spring of 2016, and the mule pack expanded to include the incredible (Juilliard grad) Rebekah Durham on fiddle, bringing her virtuosic talents and general bad-assery to the band. The real MULES were born, and the work began.” -information taken from artist’s facebook page –click here to follow Ginny Mules-

Sons of the Republic- “Sons of the Republic came together in the spring of 2015 over a bonfire and beers in North Central Kansas. While this young band is just starting to put down their roots in the Americana scene, each of them join us with deep musical backgrounds. They are making quite a first impression on their quickly loyal fans! Tammy F. writes: “Great energy, stage presence, and harmonies. Most of their music is original and new and yet they sound like they’ve been playing together for years. They are pure, original fresh sound. They are on the verge of breaking through to the big time, keep your eyes on this band! Delightful and fun” –information taken from artist’s Facebook page -click here to follow Sons of the Republic-
