Quite Frankly the Band
November 15 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Quite Frankly began when four middle schoolers decided to turn their musical ambition into reality and create a band to take them beyond their education at School of Rock. Bassist Scout Matthews began hosting rehearsals out of her garage and with the help of her incredibly supportive family, renovated her home’s basement for a creative inspiring rehearsal space. Ever since, Quite Frankly has been committed to perfecting its sound, which revisits a decade’s old rock that transcends generational divides. Writing their own original music and adding amazing covers from their favorite artists that span multiple decades — truly something for everyone!
The band members, including founders Scout Matthews and Nate Gregory, are all between the ages of 14 and 15, in just shy of two years they’ve built an impressive resume. The band is best known in the Kansas City area for providing high energy, crazy-fun performances, gaining attention by being the youngest winners of the Nelson Atkins Teen Battle of The Bands 2018. and playing shows at multiple local venues on First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District, Starlight Theater, the Rino, KU Football, Josey’s Records & many more. The band has also performed at Kauffman Stadium, appeared at Sprint Center with Big Slick and the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame. They’ve enjoyed opening for national touring acts such as The Greeting Committee, The Darbies and even LA Guns! These go-getters have played over 100 professional shows!
“The Quite Frankly Band is playing beyond their years. This is not a band of kids just playing and singing the right notes. They are legitimate performers and are a force to be reckoned with. I’m excited to be working with them. ”
