About the Bands:

Grant Sabin and the Juke Joint Highball: “ANTHROMUSICOLOGY – 12.14.12

“Grant Sabin is unquestionably one of the hardest working musicians around, playing with abandon at large and small venues throughout Colorado and beyond. As a solo artist Grant has captivated audiences for years with his raw voice, intense stage presence, and one-man band approach to creating music with slide guitar, harmonica, and stomp box. As a band leader, Grant turns the volume up to 11. The Grant Sabin Band includes, Alex Koshak (Flumps, Sugar Sounds, Briffaut) on Drums, and Sam Erickson (We Are Not A Glum Lot, Briffaut) on 2nd Guitar. Grant Sabin’s Musical delivery comes from the heart and has earned him the respect of fans and fellow musicians alike.”

– Steve Harris (KRCC)

“Grant Sabin is a unique, talented Blues prodigy. He is steeped in
traditional Blues, well beyond his years.”

– Rick Lewis (103.5 The Fox, Denver)

“Sabin’s musical delivery serves as strong reminders that playing
from the heart is clearly an innate process for some folks. He is one
of those rare souls who “just has it”. His eclectic approach to the
blues/folk/rock spectrum is honest and convincing. Its great to see
such passion and talent in young musicians. He is quickly on the path
to becoming a musical force.”

– Aaron Moreland (Guitar Player, Moreland and Arbuckle)

“Colorado Springs’ slide guitar-playing bluesman Grant Sabin is truly a throwback. The multi-instrumentalist’s baby face contradicts both his gruff voice and his repertoire, which includes not only his own modern work, but tributes to Son House and Jimi Hendrix, as well.”

– Westword”

The Outside Voices: “The Outside Voices are a five-piece American rock band from Northeast Ohio.

Formed in 2016, the group has quickly established themselves as one of the region’s most entertaining artists to watch. With thousands of miles of touring experience over the last several years, the band has made some notable appearances, including performances with Red Sun Rising, Skinny Lister, and Black Joe Lewis.

Rooted in Kent, OH – a town known for harboring the early playing careers of Joe Walsh, Dan Auerbach, and Patrick Sweany – The Outside Voices stay true to the area’s rustbelt rock reputation through a catalog of cleverly-crafted songs and charismatic live performances.

2017 brought the release of the band’s full-length debut “Hound Dogs” – recorded at Amish Electric Chair Studios in Athens, OH. The 10-song album is both evocative and hook-filled, with “… a pinch of the Ryan Adams / Whiskeytown influence that touches the heart of this new generation of troubadours (No Depression).”

The Outside Voices released their 4-song follow up, “Big, Big EP” in January 2018. Each song uniquely different from the next, the group made a concerted effort to branch out creatively from their previous release, introducing elements of pop, grunge, and psychadelia to their ’70s inspired sound.”

Shapiro Brothers: “Chad Brothers was raised in Winfield, Kansas, home of the International Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival. His fresh approach to the guitar reflects a love for classic melodies, rock and roll, acoustic flat picking and an ear for invention. Tasteful and accomplished, he has cultivated a style all his own.

Mikal Shapiro is a Kansas City songwriter whose musical influences span popular songs, psych rock, lounge and old time spirituals. She has toured extensively across the United States and has recorded five critically acclaimed albums. The Kansas City Star, Deli Magazine and Wednesday MidDay Medley declared her new album “The Musical” to be one of Kansas City’s top releases for 2015. She is currently nominated for favorite roots act in The Deli KC. A third generation storyteller, she draws inspiration from her travels, love life, and the state of the Union.”
