Flood Brothers, Mahan, Old No. 5s

February 22 @ 8:00 pm - 2:00 am

Flood Brothers, Mahan, Old No 5s

Flood Brothers

The Flood Brothers are a three man THUMP MACHINE whose infectious melodies and animal rhythms will have your bones shakin’ outta your boots! Heavily influenced by the early Rock ‘N’ Roll sounds of Memphis and Deep Blues of North Mississippi, Gabe Meyer with Colin and Jacob Best add their own bend to the boogie that could only come from the muddy banks of the mighty Mississippi River. Hannibal, MO is where these boys and their music call home.

Catch the Flood Brothers at one of their shows or even performing with Kent Burnside. The boys are known for their energetic live performances that can promote hours and hours of groove.

After several years of being friends, Howard, Landon, and Tim decided to take the all-night jam sessions from the garage and see how far they could go playing the music they love. And thus MAHAN (may-han) was born in November of 2017.

MAHAN- This is a blues-rock band to the core with a style that can only be described as “Roadhouse Rockin’ Blues.” Stylistc influences range from T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Miles Davis all the way through Motley Crue, The Winery Dogs, and Led Zeppelin. The music is based in the blues, but doesn’t really stop anywhere!

The Old No. 5’s

The Old No. 5s are a powerful Blues / Rock / Roots trio from Kansas City.  Brock Alexander (guitarist / lead vocals), Olie Bowden (bass / vocals), and Adam Watson (percussion / vocals) make a formidable sound with power as well as precision.  Emerging in late 2011, the group has performed hundreds of shows every year for the past 8 years — forging a diverse sound and distinct style filled with nuances of Rock, Blues, Country, Groove, and Soul.

The Westport Saloon

Located in Kansas City’s historic Westport District, The Westport Saloon has become a midwest haven for the underground. Roots, Honky Tonk, Bluegrass, Blues, Blues Rock, Folk, Rockabilly, and that Twang you live for.

Like the settlers of Westport, we work tirelessly to bring amazing names to our stage. Over the years we have hosted acts such as Wayne “the Train” Hancock, Dale Watson, Moe Brandy, JD Wilkes, Jayke Orvis and the Broken Band,  The Goddamn Gallows, Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies, Luke Bell, The Hooten Hallers, Carries Nation and the Speakeasy and so many more.

Like the settlers of Westport, we are also known for our whiskey. Overtime, and as tastes have changed, we have amassed quite the collection to keep your glass filled and you coming back. Saloons predate prohibition establishments, when drinks were uncomplicated, not pretentious and hearty.  It’s alright to be heavy on the bourbon and Scotch – we don’t judge.
